Why submit?

You’ve put the work in, now it’s time to get it seen. Whether you’re a university student, a recent graduate, or a working S&C coach, this is an opportunity to share original research or a real-life case study with over 500 strength and conditioning professionals at the UKSCA Annual Conference.

Being accepted means more than just presenting a poster. It’s a powerful way to:

• Make your mark in the S&C community
• Build your professional network
• Start meaningful conversations with potential employers or collaborators
• Add weight to your CV or professional portfolio.

Everyone says networking is key but walking up to an industry leader can be daunting. Presenting your work gives you a platform and a reason for others to start the conversation. Whether it's during coffee breaks, through the conference app or at social meet-ups and training sessions, this is your chance to build connections.

What can you submit?

We are now accepting abstracts in three categories:

1. Undergraduate student research
2. Postgraduate student research
3. Applied case studies from student placements or working professionals.

In addition to posters, selected submissions will be invited to deliver a 10-minute oral Spotlight presentation, followed by a short Q&A. These talks will be scheduled during the main conference Saturday sessions giving your work even more visibility.

Grants and ticket discounts

We’re committed to making the conference accessible for all. Here's how we’re supporting applicants:

Discounted Tickets

• Accepted poster lead authors receive £75 off the Saturday pass
• Optional add-on: Friday and/or Sunday access for just £30 per day (50% off).

Free Ticket Grants

• Up to 6 grants available
• Includes a 3-day conference pass (Friday–Sunday), worth £295
• Apply using Part 2 of the abstract submission form.

Key Dates & Information

• Deadline to submit abstracts is midnight on Friday 15 August 2025
• Notification of acceptance happens shortly after review by the Grants Panel
• Deadline to book your ticket (if accepted) is Monday 1 September 2025
• Conference presentation date is Saturday 13 September 2025
• One person may submit up to two abstracts (please submit each separately).

Rules and guidelines

1. Open to all UKSCA members, UK and international
2. Lead author must be a member (co-authors don’t need to be)
3. Co-author permission and conflict of interest must be managed by the lead author
4. A separate form is required for each abstract
5. The lead author or nominated co-author must attend on Saturday 13 September
6. Notifications will be sent out after review
7. Unsuccessful oral submissions will be considered for posters (unless you opt out)
8. The Grants Panel's decision is final.
