The invisible edge: How emerging tech is redefining athlete monitoring and coaching

UKSCA Annual Conference 2025. Dr. Dario Cazzola is an Associate Professor in Biomechanics at the University of Bath. With a background in biomedical engineering (Politecnico di Milano) and a PhD in Human Physiology (University of Milan), his research integrates in vivo, in vitro, and in silico methods to explore human movement and injury mechanisms in sport. Dario’s work focuses on injury biomechanics—particularly cervical spine injuries in rugby and horse racing—as well as sports performance analysis and simulation. He is affiliated with several research centres, including the Centre for the Analysis of Motion, Entertainment Research & Applications (CAMERA) and the Bath Institute for the Augmented Human. Beyond academia, he is CEO and Co-Founder of ForceTeck Ltd and a Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellow. His interdisciplinary approach advances injury prevention, rehabilitation, and human performance enhancement.
