Hamstring structure and function: implications for injury

Hamstrings strain injury is the most common injury in professional association football. This talk will consider the biomechanics of the inciting event that leads to injury, the underlying anatomy and physiology of the hamstrings muscle group, and the evidence for specific risk factors for strain injury. Finally, prevention and rehabilitation strategies will be reviewed.
