Pushing boundaries of human performance

Tony Strudwick

In this session, Tony will look at the significant developments that have taken place in English football over the past decade. Tony will address the concept of “the preparation paradox” which will explore how athletes will need to be highly conditioned to cope with the increased and changing demands of the contemporary game. At the heart of the session will be the notion that while it is important to mitigate risk v performance potential, the role of the practitioner should be to increase individual athlete capacity which will lead to working within a greater safety factor. Moreover, the backdrop of the session will be to look at how strength and conditioning can facilitate pushing the boundaries of human performance.
