The following article will aim to provide a review of available research into the acute effects of commonly used pre-performance stretching protocols. In addition, this article will also provide a brief review of the physiological factors influencing the decision-making process when selecting pre-performance warm-up and stretching practices in order to provide practical guidelines on pre-performance stretching protocols.
