Learn about our advanced professional accreditation
Accredited S&C Coaches (ASCC) apply their knowledge and expertise to plan and deliver complex programmes through innovation, creativity and technical analysis of specialised needs and performance goals. They may work independently or as part of a larger S&C or multi-disciplinary team, often in professional sports or in other specialised areas such as rehabilitation or youth development.
To become a UKSCA Accredited S&C Coach (ASCC), you must demonstrate the application of your skills and knowledge through our rigorous assessment process and will typically have a minimum of 3 years formal education at degree level and 12-24 months work experience, although we recognise coaches without degrees can become accredited through their experiential learning.
The ASCC assessment confirms the coach’s applied knowledge and practical coaching skills across four areas:
We find that successful candidates will have practical experience of coaching a range of athletes/participants at different ability levels and ages. While attendance at UKSCA workshops prior to the assessment is recommended to help candidates prepare at the right level, we do not mandate this, and you can find a number of other supporting resources through the links on this page.
