How to become a UKSCA S&C Trainer Licensed Partner

15/10/2024

WHAT ARE UKSCA LICENSED PARTNERS FOR S&C TRAINER?

Licensed partners are the organisations and companies that deliver the new Transcend Level 3 Diploma for UKSCA S&C Trainers.

This is an OfQual regulated qualification that we have developed with our awarding body partner, Transcend Awards.

Our Licensed Partners are varied:

  • Universities and FE Colleges delivering to students on S&C, sports science and sports therapy degree courses, as well as delivering to non-degree students
  • National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of Sport delivering to their staff, sports coaches pathway networks
  • Home Country Institutes of Sport delivering to sports coaches to support grassroots and pathway athletes
  • Professional clubs and teams delivering to interns and early career coaches
  • Equipment suppliers looking to add S&C education to their offering
  • Gym owners, also looking to deliver S&C education as a new income stream
  • The British Armed Forces delivery to their PTIs
  • Overseas organisations operating in places such as the Middle East, India, the Caribbean where there is a demand for formal S&C education
  • UKSCA members mentoring others, who want their mentees to gain a formal S&C qualification.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO BECOMING A LICENSED PARTNER

Becoming a Licensed partner is a straightforward process, as long as the criteria outlined in our partnership agreement are met. For example:

  • They must employ a UKSCA Licensed Assessor to formally assess the students
  • They must submit their delivery model to the UKSCA before starting the course
  • They must adhere to the UKSCA’s quality assurance processes
  • They must use venues that have the required equipment and space to deliver the qualification successfully
  • They must promote the qualification in accordance with the UKSCA Brand Guidelines.

WHAT ARE THE LICENSED PARTNER FEES

We don’t charge an annual fee or require a minimum number of students to be registered a year. We have created a simple fee structure for Licensed partners that is a standard fee per student. The same fee applies to all partners, whether they are delivering to 1 or 1001 students.

This per student fee in 2024 is £175 and covers:

  • UKSCA Associate membership for the student
  • A copy of the core text ‘Foundations of S&C’
  • Student access to the core text eLearning modules
  • Use of our extensive exercise video library for tutors
  • The awarding body registration and certification fees for each student
  • In 2025, we will be adding a new student and assessor web app to support the administration / paperwork aspect of running the qualification.
